Obituary of John Van Den Eynden
John Van Den Eynden age 61, of Stellarton, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, in his family home in Abercrombie surrounded by loved ones.
Born in New Glasgow, July 17,1959, son of Antonia M. C. Van Den Eynden and the late Antonious W. Van Den Eynden.
John was raised in a hard working, loving home in Abercrombie with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Growing up he had a love for the outdoors and fishing at his fathers’ camp. ‘Johnny was always the fun brother ‘, said Gary. He played all the fun sports, pool, cards, darts, golf, curling and baseball.John was a very kind ,thoughtful and creative man.
John served time in the Militia and with the Abercrombie Fire Department. He found his calling in carpentry after completing the course at Vocational School. If he could picture it, he could build it. He spent a lot of years crafting in his basement. Many items that he built will be in the homes of his loved ones for generations to come. John lead a proud, and prosperous career of 39 years as a carpenter & scaffolder with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, which led him to many locations across our Country.
John was a loving husband of 32 years and a proud father, who always looked after his family and lead by a fine example like his father before. John has taken with him a big part of our hearts, but his teachings and memories will live on with us and be passed down for years to come.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Cathy(Canning); son Jacob(Christina); grandchildren, Charlie and Fin; mother Marie; brothers, Marty, Anthony (Charmaine) & Gary; sisters, Anne Marie, Chris (EugeneMacLean) & Elizabeth (Rob Roy); nephews, Shawn Wilson & Jeremy Van Den Eynden; and many other nieces and nephews; father and mother in law, Russell and Dorothy Canning and family, Westville.
