Kort, Kees
Kees Kort
Died at home, surrounded by family, on his own terms, on August 17, 2020.
Kees is survived by his loving mother-and-father-in-law, Glenda and Mike Flesch,
and his three sons, Keesje (Linda), Pieter (Jamie), and John.
Papa will be sorely missed by his six grandchildren Hannah, Ethan, Madeleine, Ania, Joni, and Jack.
Kees will be mourned by his sister Marijke, and by his brother Maarten (Monica).
He was deeply loved and respected by the extended Kort and Flesch families
who will all invariably suffer a deep sense of loss in his passing.
Kees served our community as a consummate professional who habitually practiced law with a human touch.
An accomplished athlete, Kees won a Vanier Cup as a Golden Gael in 1968,
and he rowed for Canada in the World Championships in 1970.
The Big Cheese will be remembered for his common sense, his wonderful sense of humour, his generosity, and his humility.
He lived life to the fullest, but always remained an honest and humble man.
Kees is now happily reunited with his beloved wife, Diane.
Their loving bickering and banter can resume for the rest of eternity.
Cremation has taken place in accordance with Kees’s wishes and
due to Covid-19 restrictions a private family interment
has taken place at St. James Cemetery, Belleville.
Memorial donations to local food banks would be appreciated by the family.
