1962-2020
Following a lengthy illness, Van Sheldon Stevenson of Hanwell, NB,
formerly of Plaster Rock, NB, passed away peacefully at the Dr.
Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on the morning of August 20,
2020.
Van was born in Brandon, MB, on April 30, 1962. He was the son of the
late Robert and Alice (Simpson) Stevenson. Van leaves behind his
brothers, Rocky Stevenson of Oxbow, NB, James Stevenson of New
Brunswick, and Derek Stevenson of Perth-Andover, NB; along with his
niece and nephews.
Van was predeceased by his parents; his grandparents; his aunt, Joyce
(Simpson) Berger; and his uncle, Gilbert Simpson.
Respecting Van’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral
service held. A private graveside service will be held at the Riley
Brook Community Cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Riley Brook Community
Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
Van’s family would like to thank the staff and management of the
Hanwell Special Care Home as well as the nurses and doctors of the Dr.
Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for the excellent care given to Van
during his stay with them. Also, a special thank you to all the family
members who helped Van in anyway they could over the years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
