Peacefully at home on Friday, August 14, 2020 Joan Van Den Assem of Blyth went to be with her Lord in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the late Johannes “John” Van Den Assem. Loving mother of Dylan & Mary-Ann Van Den Assem, Oscar & Elizabeth Van Den Assem, and Rebecca & Jim Siertsema. Cherished Oma of Melissa, Rueben (Emily), great granddaughter Kayley, Caroline (Richard) Pennings, Morgan, Aidan, Courtney, Galen, and Colton Van Den Assem, Joshua, Mandy, and Chantelle (Kirk Rainey) Van Den Assem, and Joel, Annelise, Philip, and Raquelle Siertsema. Dear sister of Mary Guetter, Margaret Kuiper, and Art & Marilyn Lazet. Sister-in-law of Margaret Jongsma, Ann Reinsma, Alvin Wallace, Lee Van Den Assem, Nick & Nancy Van Den Assem, Ben Van Den Assem & Catherine Cornish, Rita Lazet. Predeceased by Corrie Wallace, Tina & Henk Zeilstra, Tony Van Den Assem, Piet Lazet, Kees Kuiper, Piet Reinsma, and Henry Jongsma. A funeral service will be held at Blyth Union Cemetery on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 1 p.m. Though the service is limited to those invited, the family invites you join them from the comfort of your home.
