Pitts, Eugene Aubrey, age 85, of Tracadie, Antigonish County,
passed away on August 11, 2020, in St. Martha’s Regional
Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in East Weymouth, Mass., he was a son of the late
Charles and Margaret (Dadeau) Pitts.
Eugene spent 6 years in the US military, stationed in New
Jersey and Germany, among other places. A meat cutter by
trade, he worked in many places including Dominion Grocery in
Antigonish for 10 years. He moved to Tracadie in 1969 and
would travel back to the States nearly every summer. In
fact, he and his wife Nancy enjoyed travelling all over.
Taking after his father, Eugene enjoyed sewing with all types of heavy
materials such as leather and suede.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy (Myette);
children, Charles, Tracadie; Andrea (James) Mattie, Edmonton; Melissa
(Robert), Heatherton; Jennifer (Jim) O’Brien, Belnan;
grandchildren, Sarah, Kimberley, Shannon, Justin, Megan, Dylan,
Michael, Rachel, Jacob, and Lily; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Lucas,
Emmett, Addison, and Evelyn; and siblings, Frances (late Al) Ashley,
Donald Joseph (Raye), Janice (Richard) Pattison, and James; and Rita
O’Connor, Russell, Bernard, and Evelyn.
Predeceased by great granddaughter, Jenna
Nicole.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in
C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 11:00am in St. Peter’s
Church, Tracadie, with Fr. John Barry presiding. Visitors
are required to follow all social distancing protocols, and masks are
mandatory, at both the visitation and funeral. Cremation to
follow and burial in the parish cemetery at a later
date.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff
of St. Marth’s Hospital and all the family and friends who
supported Eugene through his illness.

PUBLIC VISITATION
PROTOCOLS
All visitors are advised to bring a mask when
attending a visitation at our funeral home. There are
markings on the floor which indicate six-foot distances as well as
markings that indicate 6 feet from the family. You are asked
to respect those markings as much as possible at all times.

At the direction of the Province of Nova Scotia,
there is no guest book provided and we will not be handling Mass or
donation money, though cards can be made available for
you.
Anyone who is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or who
could be considered high-risk of contracting the coronavirus should
avoid attending the visitation and funeral. The list of
