Obituary of Steve Anaka
The family of Steve Anaka are deeply saddened and heartbroken to announce his sudden passing on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the age of 74 years. Steve was the youngest child born to Michael and Catherine Anaka (both deceased). Steve is also predeceased by his infant daughter Sheila Anaka; infant brother William; brother John; sister Effie Timoshuk; sister Mary (Felix) Polster. Steve will be missed deeply by his loving wife Lois of 54 years; daughter Tera McNabb; son Dennis (Roxanne) Anaka; son Michael (Jennifer) Anaka; grandchildren Tiffanie Anaka, Christopher (Kayla) Anaka, Tori McNabb, Keaton Anaka, Blake Anaka; great grandchild MaKayla Anaka. Steve is also survived by numerous brothers in law and sisters-in-law along with many nieces and nephews.
Steve grew up on the family farm south of Foam Lake, SK. He worked as a butcher in Kelvington then moved to Moose Jaw where he joined the team at Ricken’s Meats. Steve also worked with his cousin at Adams Painting & Decorating for many years before going into business for himself until he retired.
Steve enjoyed his family and helping anyone who needed help. He had many interests including fishing, curling and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the Habs and Riders every opportunity he could. Steve also loved gardening in the summer and took great pleasure in caring for his four legged friend “Willie”.
A heartfelt thank you to the first responders and the staff on 3F at the Regina General Hospital.
A private celebration of Steve’s life will be held by family.
