Memorial Donation
It is with profound sadness we share the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather Harry Alfred Reid Wagg. Harry passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 at the age of 91 years at the Mountain Hope Manor in Port Aux Basques, with his loving family by his side. Harry was the son of the late William Wagg and Florence Herritt (nee Bungay). He was also predeceased by his stepfather; William Herritt, brothers; Gerald Wagg, Albert Herritt, father and mother-in-law; John and Ester Jane Hardy (nee Richardson).
Born in Burin, Newfoundland, Harry has always been a hard worker. He was a fisherman from the age of 11 until he was 65 and had a passion for his career. The ocean was his second home. He was a dedicated provider for his wife Sylvia of 71 years and their 6 children Dianne (Wilf), Harry (Linda), Melvin (Darlene), Marilyn (Joey), Bill (Claudine), Marie (Marvin) who have been left with fond memories that they will cherish forever. When Harry wasn’t out at sea or spending time with his family, Harry enjoyed being a sportsman, hunting and salmon fishing, and he shared this love of the land with others as a hunting guide for many years. He was a storyteller, a gardener, a handy-man and so much more. He will live on in the hearts of many.
He also leaves to morn his sisters; Athena Buckland, Mabel Dominie (Winston), sisters-in-law; Marie Wagg, Joan Herritt, brothers; Willard (Theresa) and Henry (Joselyn).
