Jean Marshall July 14th 2020

It is with much sadness, but also with grateful hearts for a long and full life, that the family of Jean Rose (Down) Marshall announces her passing at the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan on July 14, 2020 at the age of 92 years.
Jean’s memory will be forever cherished by her son Reginald “Reg” and grandchildren Andrea and Danielle. She is also survived by her siblings Donald (Marge) Down, Dorothy Chay, Blanche Venne; sisters-in-law Ramona Down, Barbara Down, Carol Down, Yvonne Down, Betty Adair and Evelyn Marshall; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Wesley; parents Elizabeth “Annie” and George; adoptive parents Thomas and Louisa Thompson; and numerous members of the Down, Marshall and Thompson families.
Jean grew up on the Thompson farm south of Fairlight, Saskatchewan. Upon completion of her schooling, Jean became a teacher at the Dayton school in the Martin District. It was during this time that Jean met her future husband Wesley Marshall, a local farmer. After Wes and Jean were married, they lived on a farm in the Martin District. In 1963 they moved to Moosomin, Saskatchewan while still continuing to operate their farm. Wes and Jean were an active part of the community in Moosomin and made lifelong friends. In 1952 their family grew as they welcomed a son Reginald to their family. After Wes’s passing in 2011, Jean continued to live in Moosomin and then moved to Regina in 2012 to live with her son.
In Regina Jean continued to be involved in the Glen Elm Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and made many new friends. We will all miss her knowledge as a historian, love of geography and appreciation for life.
The family wishes to thank all the caregivers for taking such good care of Jean.
