Lenard Hinz 2020

January 9, 1930 – July 25, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandpa, and great grandpa on July 25, 2020 at the age of 90. Lenard was born to John and Agnes (Wiens) on January 9, 1930 on the farm in Laird. Lenard and Marlene were married on August 28, 1953 and would have been celebrating their 67th anniversary on August 28.
Lenard is survived by his wife Marlene; daughter Deb (Shawn) Barnes; sons, Jerry (Roberta) and Jeff (Gwen); his grandchildren, Justin, Robert, Angie, Tessa, and Jennifer; his great grandchildren, James, Liam, and Austin; brother Harold (Marjorie); sisters Laverna and Rosie; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his daughter Sylvia; granddaughter Chantel; and brother-in-law Peter Tiechroeb.
Lenard spent the majority of his life on the family farm. He was very active in the community along with Marlene. He always kept busy fixing, building, and repairing anything anyone in the community needed. He was also an avid gardener and had the largest produce ever. Lenard enjoyed fishing and eventually built a cabin at Candle Lake where they had spent the majority of their summers. Lenard played the bass guitar in many church groups and also played the trumpet.
Due to covid restrictions there will be no service at this time. We ask that you light a candle or take a moment of silence to remember Lenard. Condolences may be entered online for the family at funksfuneralhome.ca. Arrangements in care of Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK.
