Martin James Horne- Eastern Passage, NS
Age 74 passed away peacefully on July 18 in the Dartmouth General Hospital surrounded by prayer. He was the son of the late Burton and Isabel (Gray) Horne, Enfield. He is survived by his sisters, Florence O’Toole, Millie Violette, Monica Hilton, Marion Maxner and Thelma (Sister Rita, FoH) Hanna. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his partner, Mary Johnson; sisters, Annie Frame, Loretta Isenor, Katie Barter, Alberta Laraway and many nieces and nephews. Martie served for thirty years in the Canadian Military, first with the Airforce and then the Navy. Upon retirement, Martie lived a quiet simple life, helping to care for his elderly mom and serving his church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Arimathea Funeral Cooperative., Upper Musquodoboit. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private family Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Enfield on Tuesday, July 21 at 11:00 am; Father Peter Hanna officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery following the Mass.
