MARY (HEIN) LOEWEN
September 19, 1927 – July 16, 2020
Mary passed away at RUH. She was born to Peter & Katharina (Schmidt) Hein, the eldest of nine children.
At an early age her Mom passed away in 1949, making it difficult for all family members. Dad then re-married in the 1950’s to Agnes Schellenberg.
Mary’s first job at age 18 was at the Osler Post Office & Telephone exchange. Later she obtained her Nursing Assistant Certification and her Business College Course. She held many Church positions over the years.
In 1979, Mary met and married Cornelius Loewen. They enjoyed many travelling tours and spent many hours fishing at the lakes in Saskatchewan and elsewhere.
Mary is survived by her brothers and sisters; Helen (Bob) Heinrichs, Winnipeg; Kay Oxley, Saskatoon; Anne (Jake) Berg, Saskatoon; Ed Hein, Saskatoon; Elsie (Alf) Bisschop, Saskatoon; and sisters-in-law Olive Hein, Calgary; and Bonnie Hein, Saskatoon; her husband’s family, brother Peter (Anne) Loewen, Jake Zacharias, Mary Wall, Eva Zacharias and Sylvia Loewen.
She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their families who were all so precious to Mary.
She was predeceased by her Mother (1949), Father (1978), her husband Cornie (2007), brothers Dick (2002), Dave (2005), Corney (2017), step-mother Agnes (2006), brother-in-law Orvan (1999), sister-in-law Mary (2016). Also members of Cornie’s family, Cornie’s parents and step-mother, brother George (Betty) Loewen, Frank Zacharias, Bill Loewen, sister Tina (Peter) Stefan, Sarah Zacharias and Helen (Arnie) Neufeld.
A Private Family Service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in the Martens Warman Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Neuhorst Cemetery.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Mary’s friend, Jake Derkson, for providing her many hours of friendship and companionship.
A thank you to the staff at RUH for the wonderful, loving care she received.
