MUISE, David Ernest – age 66, Yarmouth, formerly of Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 12, 2020 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born February 17, 1954 in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late George Frank “Hank” Martin and Margaret Elizabeth Muise. David had worked as a fisherman earlier in life, but went on to enjoy a long career as a long-haul truck driver out of Ontario for many years – a job he truly enjoyed until the day he retired. He was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 61, Yarmouth. David had an extensive movie collection and he loved his dogs. He will be missed by his loving wife, Shirley A. (Cottreau) Muise, Villa St-Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton; a daughter, April King (Howard Dulenty); a son, Ian (Jennifer) Muise; step-sons, Geoffrey Pothier and Nicholas Pothier, as well as granddaughters, Ivy King and Mariah Muise; a step-granddaughter, Marisa and step-great-grandchildren, Conrad and Kian. Also surviving are brothers, Bobby (Ann) Muise, Fred (Janice) Muise and Gordie (Linda) Muise, as well as sisters-in-law, Caroline Pothier, Norma Cottreau and Denise (Wayne) Doucette; a brother-in-law, Brian Doucette. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Herbie, Kathleen, Rita, George, Margaret “Dolly” and a younger sister in infancy. Visitation will take place from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, July 16, immediately followed by the memorial service at 2 p.m., both at H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, David’s nephew, Pastor Fred Muise, will be officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating will be limited to approximately 60 people, and social distancing guidelines must be followed. Also, please note that immediate family will be given priority for seating. The service will be webcast. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth.
