Thonny Visser Monday January 13th 2020

Mr. Tony Visser, of Abbotsford, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2020 in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 85 years. Tony was born on June 1, 1934 in Mander, Overijssel in the Netherlands, he came to Canada on his own at the age of nineteen with a dream of farming. He spent time in Ontario and Edmonton before settling in Grand Forks, British Columbia where he met and married Jenny. In 1967, they moved to Abbotsford where they dairy farmed until 1985. Tony was predeceased by his wife Jenny in 2019 and his son Gary in 2007. He leaves behind his two children: Roselyn (Curtis) Weinrauch of Innisfail, and Gail (Kevin) Shaw of Wetaskiwin; and five beautiful granddaughters: Alyssa, Brianna, Haley, Kristen (Justin) and Rachel. He also leaves his brother Roel (Lucy) Visser in St. Nicholaasga, Netherlands as well as many nieces and nephews. Family was very important to Tony. He cared for both Jenny and Gary for many years and took great pleasure in spending time with his daughters and granddaughters. He was immensely proud of them all, and leaves behind beautiful memories. Tony’s sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye will be remembered by all who knew him. If desired, Memorial Donations in Tony’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society who took such great care of Tony, and his family.
