Mattie, Helen Patricia, age 57, of East Tracadie, Antigonish
County passed away in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital,
Antigonish on July 9, 2020 after a short but courageous battle with
cancer.
Born in Antigonish, she was the daughter of the late Thomas
and Effie (MacMillan) Glenn.
Graceful till the end, she was the lover of all things
precious in life. Her time was enjoyed most when she was with her
family and friends – especially her special nieces and nephews. You
could always find her looking forward to her girls nights at the beach
or many adventures snowshoeing. The snuggler of all babies – Mom had a
special way of making everyone around her feel so
loved.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; daughter Jalysa
(Daniel), Pomquet; son, Luke, at home and her special girl, Hazel
Jean; sisters: Sheila (Bill) Deon, Antigonish; Darlene (Danny) Mattie,
Monastery; Mary Feltmate, Heatherton; Linda Snyder, Guysborough;
Jessie (Jimmy) Rogers, Fredericton; Donna Glenn, Antigonish; Jane
(Daryl) Deon, Pomquet; brothers: Jim, Pomquet; Frank (Helen), Pomquet;
Tom, Havre Boucher; mother-in-law, Mary Mattie, Monastery; niece Tracy
(Elton) Deon, British Columbia.
Predeceased by sisters, Donelda and Debby and father-in-law,
Tommy Mattie.
Cremation has taken place. A private funeral service will be
held with Reverend John Barry presiding. A live stream link will be
provided on this website on Monday at 10:00 am. Burial in St.
Peter’s Cemetery, Tracadie at a later date. Online
