Predeceased by her parents Gus Peters and Susan (nee Gallant) of St. Charles, PEI. Pauline will be very missed by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Pauline led an interesting and varied life and left her footprint in a lot of places from her beginnings in St. Charles to moving to Bothwell after marrying at the age of 19. She was a dutiful homemaker and worked hard on the family farm with her husband. She travelled worldwide with Daniel during his time. When she became a widow and had more time for herself, she accomplished many more things from winning a rural beautification prize for her flowers to traveling to UPEI for an English Course in the middle of winter. She was involved in the seniors acting group “The Venerables” and performed in PEI and Atlantic Provinces uplifting seniors everywhere. Never forgetting her roots, the people of St. Charles were never far away from her mind and heart as she spoke so fondly of her Acadian upbringing there with Mom and “Pop” in the Line of the Lot. In her later years moving to Purcell’s Cove, NS, closer to her youngest daughter and grandchildren, all the while keeping a connection to PEI through phone calls, Compass and summer visits.
Special thank you to those friends and family who continued to travel to NS just for the purpose to visit Polly, especially the Saint Charles crew who would come in droves. Special drop offs of cooked and shelled lobster by grand-niece Shelly and Colin Lavie, who were so thoughtful to Pauline and visited at every opportunity.
Special thanks to staff and friends at Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home in Halifax where Pauline spent the last two years of her life and became affectionally known as the “prayer lady” for their compassion and care. At her nursing home, mom was not content until she got all her special phone calls in to her children, family and siblings. She waited daily for her special prayers from her son, Walter, which meant so much. A special thank you to staff member Donna Thorne at Saint Vincent’s who became a dear friend and was a blessing when family could not visit during Covid. She will surely be remembered as a woman of genuine faith. We will miss those constant prayers very much. We know you will keep watch.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church in early September; Fairfield. PE, for family only. Interment will take place in the church cemetery following the service. If so, desired donations made to the St. Columba Church Restoration Fund would be appreciated.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Pauline MacDonald August 4th 1927 July 9th 2020..
