Obituary of Neal Charles Belyea
It is with heavy hearts and immense sorrow that the family announces the unexpected passing of Neal Charles Belyea at the age of 76, who suffered a fatal heart attack at home.
Neal was born on April 29, 1944 to Charles and Marguerite Belyea in Saint John. After graduating from Vocational School, he worked for ES Stephenson, Dykemans Hardware, and Irving Oil Refinery for 20 years. After retiring in 1994, Neal spent his time wood carving, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved nature and the great outdoors. His loss will be deeply felt by all who loved him.
In 1967, he met Debbie Berry. They were married on September 8, 1973 and had two children, Kim Keenan (Lee) and Heidi Berlin (Dan); three grandchildren, Adam Charles Clark Berlin, Anna and Aidan Keenan; brothers, Barry (Cherri), Lowell (Rose); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Neal was predeceased by his parents Charles and Marguerite Belyea; his sister, Nancy Belyea; and his grandson, Adam Berlin.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A private funeral service for immediate family will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Due to current public health restrictions, attendance will be by invitation only. A livestream of the service will be available from Neal’s obituary on Brenan’s website beginning on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 2:30 pm and will be viewable later as well. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
