Memorial Donation
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Solomon (Saul) Osmond announces his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Friday, July 3rd, 2020 at the age of 86 years. Born in Margaree, NL, Saul was the son of the late Thomas and Violet Osmond (nee Walters). He was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Llewellyn and Florence Gillam (nee Anderson); infant son Robert Osmond; sisters Gertrude (Dorman) Warren, Charlotte (George) Anderson; brothers Wilson Osmond, Thomas Osmond, Arthur (Francis) Osmond, Jess (Theresa) Osmond; brother-in-law Maxwell Gillam; sisters-in-law Olive Connors, Maria (Charles) Clevett, Louise (Henry) Clarke, Linda Gillam and good friend Cecil Osmond.
He leaves to mourn with a lifetime of fond and loving memories his beloved wife of 62 years Bernice Osmond (nee Gillam); sons Arthur (Wendy) Osmond of Port aux Basques, NL, Glen (Marilyn) Osmond of Cambridge, ON; grandchildren Terry Osmond of Cambridge, ON, Carolyn Osmond; brother Walter (Gladys) Osmond; brothers-in-law Arthur Gillam, Stan (Rena) Gillam all of Port aux Basques, NL, Ivan (Ann) Gillam of St. John’s, NL; special friends Bill (Phyllis) Savoury and Marlene (Harry) Pardy plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family would like to send a sincere thank you to Dr. Thomas and the nursing staff at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre for the excellent care they provided for Saul.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 4th from 7-9 pm and on Sunday, July 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home (Downtown Location). The funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques on Monday, July 6th, 2 pm officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Saul’s memory can be made to the St. James Anglican Church Building Fund.
