Masanobu ‘Mas’ Tsunokawa 2020

Our loving husband, father and grand-father (Gi-chan) passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the age of 91.
He will be fondly remembered by his wife of 49 years May (Pepper), his children Jo-Ann (Eric Charpentier), Derek and Jason, and his grandchildren Alia and Kyra. He is survived by his younger brother Bob (Kay) and predeceased by his parents Masao and Harue (Hori), and his three sisters, Michiko (Ikeda), Claire (Dionne) and Cecilia (Tsumura). Mas was very involved in local community groups in Dorval, including the 50+ Travel Club, Garden Club, Dorval-Strathmore United Church and the community woodworking shop. He was also an active member of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre in Montreal. He was generous and kind and was always willing to volunteer his time for others. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him
A heart-felt thank you goes out to the doctors and nurses at Jewish General Hospital Dialysis Clinic for all their care and support these past few years. In line with his request, there will be no visitation or funeral at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a future date when deemed appropriate. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mas may be made to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre of Montreal (JCCCM, 8155 Rousselot St., Montreal, QC H2E 1Z7).
