Fleming, Shirley Jane – Age 82, of Brookfield passed away in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre on June 18, 2020. She was born in Springside, a was a daughter of the late Alvin and Lyle (McCoul) Ellis.
Shirley was a Grace Nurse who enjoyed working in the nursery of the Colchester Hospital. She was happiest spending quiet moments with her husband, Bruce, and being in the company of her grandchildren who lit up her life. She enjoyed travelling, dancing with her many friends and being in her flower gardens. She was an incredible hostess.
She is survived, and will be dearly missed, by her husband of 61 years, Bruce; son, Mark (Kelly); daughter-in-law, Christine; grandchildren, Jane, Amy (Daniel), Jessica, Charlie (Alanna), Alex; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Logan, Xavier, Michelle, Mia, Dom, Sage; sister, Marion; sisters-in-law, Noreen, Frances (Garnet); brother-in-law, Benny; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Blair; sisters, Irene (Eldridge), Eva, Anna; brothers, Ron, Alex.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A private family graveside service will be held in Eastville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eastville Cemetery.
Heartfelt thanks to all those who supported us during this difficult time, we truly appreciate it.
