Paul Bourgeois
1943 ~ 2020
Shediac, NB (formerly of Grande-Digue) – Paul Bourgeois, 76, passed away peacefully at the Villa Providence in Shediac, on Thursday June 11, 2020.
Born in Cocagne, NB, December 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Alphonse and the late Anna Bourgeois (born LeBlanc).
Paul is survived by his three sisters: Simone (Ken McPhee), Louise (late Edmond Landry) and Odette (late Albert Bourque); his special friend, Jeannita; his three aunts: Marie (late Eric), Lina (late Lionel) and Anna (late Eric); as well as several cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Alfred (infant).
Paul was a fisherman by trade until the year 2000. He also enjoyed carpentry. His artistic skills were demonstrated in his fishing buoy projects in which the individuality of over sixty fishermen from Grande-Digue was recognized. These buoys, very original and colorful, are on display at the Pioneer Village of Grande-Digue. Paul was well known in the area and had a number of friends. He was a storyteller and loved a good joke. He will be greatly missed.
According to Paul’s wishes, there will be no visitation. After the cremation, there will be a service at La Visitation cemetery in Grande-Digue.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Villa Providence for the excellent care Paul received. In memory of Paul, a donation to the Villa Providence of Shediac or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
