Gibbons, Nicole June ‘Nikki’
Nikki Banks of Meaford passed away at Victoria Hospital in London on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the age of 40 after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on October 23, 1979 in Breton, Alberta, the daughter of Keith and Linda (nee Mills) Banks of Alberta.
Nikki will always be remembered as the loving and devoted mother of Madison Gibbons, and will also be remembered fondly by Madison’s father Bryan Gibbons of Meaford.
She was the caring and supportive sister of Paul Banks (Bev Hodgins) of Holstein, Peter Banks (Kim) of New Liskeard, Denise Pearce (Hugh) of Granton, Danielle Banks and Jessica Banks, both of Warburg, Alberta. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond Banks and by her grandparents Sheldon and June Mills and Harold and Iona Banks. Nikki will be missed by her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends meant the world to Nikki and she valued her time spent with them. She enjoyed playing baseball, going to concerts and generally having fun with her friends Kati Burgess, Pam Atkinson and the many other friends she made over the years, ‘All the People’! Nikki has worked for Grey County Housing for several years and was very passionate about her job and the tenants she supported and assisted.
Nikki’s life will be celebrated at the Kin Hall at Memorial Park in Meaford on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 6 until 9 p.m. with tributes and toasts being shared at 7 o’clock. All are invited to gather at the hall and are asked to bring your own refreshments.
