Donna Pauline (nee Howard) McKeown
It is with great sadness that the family of Donna McKeown announce her passing on January 8, 2020 at Vision Nursing Home at the age of 89. Donna was the beloved wife of the late Ken McKeown (2006), and cherished mother of the late Kathy Ptaszynski (2018) (Jim) and Brian McKeown (Lisa) of Galahad, Alberta. Cherished grandmother of Tom Ptaszynski of Sarnia, Kerri Ptaszynski(Martin Burak) of London, Chelsey McKeown of Red Water, Alberta, and Chris McKeown (Emily Hamilton) of Red Water, Alberta. Beloved great-grandmother of Emily and Maya Burak and Hunter Hamilton. Donna is also survived by her brother, Beverly Howard of St. Thomas and will also be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Thelma and Lance Howard, her in-law’s Samuel and Isabella McKeown, sister-in-law’s Jean Livingstone, Kathleen Wyman, Marion Hardy, and Helen Howard, and brother-in-law’s Jack (Sam) McKeown, and Ernie Hardy. Donna was born in St. Thomas in 1930. She worked for Bell in London, before marrying her husband, Ken in 1951. After marriage, they relocated to Sarnia. Donna was the office manager at SOS Personnel Inc. for many years during the 70’s and 80’s and after retirement, opened Donna M’s Mastectomy Boutique as she saw the need to help women in the surrounding area to cope with the after effects of breast cancer. She worked closely with the Canadian Cancer Society in the endeavour. The family would like to thank Dr. Kim and the amazing staff at Vision Nursing Home. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd. (102 Victoria Street, North, Sarnia) on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment of ashes will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society.
