Walter’s Obituary
GRAVES, Walter Freeman ~ age 83 passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 14, 2020 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Port Lorne, he was a son of the late Joseph and Hattie Graves. Walter was a retired heavy machine mechanic having worked for Twin City Dairies, G.N. Reagh & Sons Ltd, Middleton and later became self-employed helping out many farmers in the area. He was a founding member of the Port Lorne & District Fire Department where he served as a long time Fire Chief. Walter will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his second wife Sandra ; son, Jon Graves (Pauline Krell), and grandchildren, Jaydon and Janessa Graves, Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan; daughter, Marie (David) Schurman, and grandchildren, Kevin and Devon Grant, Billy Joseph Robicheau, Steff Kinsman; Ryan Carrier, Kentville; great grandchildren, Infinity, Eric, Isabella, Sophia; brothers, John (Olive) Graves, Bridgetown; Allen (Sharon) Graves, Port Lorne; step-daughters, Pamela (Kevin) MacLeod of Truro; Susan (Gerry) Hamilton of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec; Sandy Murray of Middleton; step-sons, Peter Mollins of North Williamston, Paul Mollins of Truro, Tim (Julie) Mollins, Granville Ferry and many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, the former Barbara Ann Brinton. A private family graveside service will be held in the Fundy View Cemetery, Port Lorne with Pastor Heather Pearle-Gillis officiating.
