Arnold Leander Norwood 19302020

Arnold Leander Norwood
1930-2020
It is with sadness that the family announce the passing of
Arnold Leander Norwood at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday,
May 18, 2020. Born in Gagetown, New Brunswick on January 16,
1930, Arnold was the son of the late John and Edith (Russon)
Norwood.
Arnold was very involved with life in the village. A member
of St John’s Church, he was also active with the Gems
Seniors Group. He enjoyed playing cribbage and playing his guitar,
often he would be part of the jam sessions in the village. In his
younger days, he pitched for one of the local teams. He followed the
Blue Jays, but word is that he was a Yankees fan. If you had taken the
ferry you would have seen Arnold in the operator’s
seat.
Arnold will be missed by his brothers William (Mary Jean),
Ralph (Brenda), and Robert (Betty); sisters Marion Jackson, Helen
Norwood (Bob Charles), and Donna Neilsen (Leif) as well as his many
nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
In addition to his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his
wife Barbara (Scovil) and his brother John.
There will be a private family service held at the Oromocto
Funeral Home, with interment to follow in the St. Stephen Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA would be appreciated by the
family.
