MARGARET EUGENIA (JEAN) SMITH
October 12, 1921 – May 10, 2020
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Smith (nee Ingram) on Mother’s Day at the age of 98 1/2.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Clara Ingram, her beloved husband of 49 years, Ross Smith, her husband of 18 years, Douglas West, and her brother Stanley Ingram (Billie).
She leaves behind her son, Ken (Janice) and daughter Nancy Sanborn, grandchildren Scott (Angie), Kerry (Trevor), Caitlin, Jonathan, Emma (Philipp), and great grandchildren Ethan, Maverick, Georgia and Evan as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
‘Nanny’ will be fondly remembered for her joie de vivre, her sense of humour and her daily gratitude. Every phone call ended with her words of appreciation for a blessed life.
Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge who cared for Mom with such kindness and compassion.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Salvation Army Golden West Centennial Lodge or an animal charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
A celebration of Mom’s life will be held at a later date.
Condolences may be sent to www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
