Florence Ann McIntyre
1928-2020
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother
at the Moncton Hospital following a brief illness. A profoundly
dedicated mother, she spent much of her life on her own working hard
to provide for her four daughters who will miss her deeply: Gisele
Peacock of Saint John; Monica Plant (Fred) of Dieppe; Kathleen Kieley
(Paul) of Bedford, N.S. and Margaret (Maggie) Floyd (Michael) of
Pointe-du Chene and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren:
Jill Peacock (Jamie Van Alstine), Jennifer St. Thomas (Phillip),
Nicholas Henrichs (Patti), Daniel Plant, Darcy Plant (Christine
Comeau), Laura MacIntosh (Ken), Stephen Kieley (Brittany), Lauren Weir
(Sam) and Chris Floyd; Ella, Lexi, Leif, Grace, Rhys, Sterling, Marin
and little Emmeline, several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Florence was predeceased by her sisters
Edna Roy, Albina D’Aoust, Irene McIntrye; brothers Herby,
Alban and Forbes and her infant son, James.
Born in Charlo, she moved to southern New Brunswick as a
young adult and spent most of her working life in administrative
assistant positions with Prudential Insurance and the Federal
Government.
In retirement Florence was a dedicated volunteer at the
Moncton Hospital, United Way, Heart and Stroke Association and The
Riverview Tourist Bureau. Florence was immensely proud of her Irish
and Scottish heritage and had a great love of travel and
adventure.
For forty-six years Florence was a member of The Immaculate
Heart of Mary Church in Riverview. Her dedication to God and the
Catholic Church propelled Florence though life and formed the
foundation of her desire to assist others while giving her comfort
through times of trouble.
A Funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart
of Mary Roman Catholic Church on Monday, August 11, 2020 at 11:00am,
the number of guests will be according to covid-19 restrictions at
that time. A guest book will be available to sign when the maximum
number of guests within the church is
reached.
Florence spent the last 6 years of her life dealing with
blindness associated with strokes. Memorial donations to the House of
Nazareth, Knights of Columbus (Riverview),The Canadian Institute for
The Blind or to the charitable institution of the donor’s
choice will extend Florence’s generous spirit and will be
greatly appreciated by the family. We would like to take this
opportunity to thank Arnold Brassard for his kindness to our
Mother.
