MacIsaac, Douglas Steven
1961 – 2020
Doug was the eldest son of Ernest and Leona MacIsaac, born on August 23, 1961 in Rocky Mountain House. The family later moved to Edmonton Alberta before settling in the Town of Devon, where Doug grew up and would later raise his family. He was always well liked making many friends that became lifelong friendships.
Claudette caught Doug’s eye and he sought out to win her heart in 1980. He would buy many strawberry milkshakes from Hannigans that year, the diner were she worked. He was successful in his attempts; Claudette became Doug’s soul mate and best friend and they were married on June 28th, 1986.
Doug excelled in everything that he did. He became a b-pressure welder and worked in the trade for 35 years and was seen as a hard worker and mentor to others.
Doug and Claudette shared in many of their passions, including ski trips, playing softball, camping and spending time with family and friends; but, their greatest achievement was the birth of their son Aaron, born on January 13th, 1991 and their daughter Holly on August 25th, 1992.
Doug was a strong and honest man. He left a positive impact on everyone he met and he had a wide circle of friends that cared deeply for him. Some of his fondest memories were coaching his son’s hockey team, fishing, riding his motorcycle with his friends, and spending time with his dog Jasper – “the Booge”.
His greatest love was his family – Doug loved Claudette, Aaron and Holly “to the moon”.
Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife Claudette; children Aaron and Holly (Lee Morry); siblings David (Tina) MacIsaac, Ann (Zach) Johnston, Cyndie (Dale) Sekora and Bob (Janice) Stevens; in-laws Doris (Al) Broadbent, Denise (Bob) Marcotte, and Denis Prince as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and good friends.
