It is with sadness we announce the passing of
Nellie Robertha O’Brien, age 81, of River
Hebert, NS. Nellie passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2020 at
her home, surrounded by her husband and loving family.
Born in Janvrin Harbour, Cape Breton, NS, she was a daughter
of the late Clarence and Hazel George.
Nellie was a dedicated wife of over 62 years. She loved her
family and was a very caring mother to her children and their
families. She especially loved her cat Echo. She always enjoyed
listening to country music, and was an amazing cook and
baker.
Nellie will be dearly missed by her husband John, River
Hebert, NS; children Jacklyn (Trent) Madden, Ontario; Alvin (Nicky),
Montreal, PQ, James (Buffy), Montreal, PQ; Barbara Lee (Mark),
Moncton, NB and Tammy O’Brien, Amherst, NS; grandchildren Christopher,
David, and Dominic; great grandson Camden; siblings Bonnie, Barbara
Ann, Percy and Elwin; her closest niece Tracy; as well several other
nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Thorn, Harold, Rose and
Francis.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones
Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS
(902-667-8777). Due to COVID-19, Due to Covid-19, a celebration of
remembrance will be held at a later date.
Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Nellie’s name
may do so to the charity of your choice.
