Tributes
Peacefully, on 8 May 2020, in her home at Orchard View on the Mississippi in Almonte, Doris Jean Scholes passed away from natural causes at the age of 91. Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend of 55 years, David H. Scholes. She was forever a devoted mother to her son Richard Scholes. She was very proud of her grandchildren Benjamin and Jane, and will be lovingly remembered by them as well as their mother Paula Scholes. Doris is also survived by her dear sister Mary Alice Williams, brother-in-law Don Williams, nephew Charles Messecar, and niece Lynn Stocker – with whom she was especially close – and family. Doris was known for her dedication to family, her fashion sense, and her love of the arts. She and David were avid travelers and long-time supporters of the NACO. Doris served as a volunteer at the Canadian Museum of Nature for 25 years. The family thanks everyone at Orchard View for their warmth, commitment, and compassion throughout her stay there and particularly during the current challenging times.
