Allison F Ike Reeves 19332020

Allison F. “Ike” Reeves
1933-2020
It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the
passing of Allison “Ike” Fenton Reeves,
aged 87 years. Just over a year ago he and Janet
moved to Dartmouth to live with their daughter. This
is where he passed peacefully on Wednesday,
May 06 2020.
Allison was born in Freetown, PEI on
April 6, 1933 to the late Reginald and Elizabeth
(nee Burns) Reeves. Beloved and devoted husband of Janet
(nee Murphy) Reeves and father of Marina (John) Keeping and
Mark (Stacey) Reeves.
Loving grandfather to Jacob (Jasmine) Keeping, Adrien
(Kristy) Keeping, Grace Keeping, Dakota Keeping, Dayne (Sarah) Kelly,
Jared (Robin) Duggan, Joseph Wilson, Kaleigh Duggan, Joshua Elijah
Reeves, Joshua Mark (BJ) Reeves, Jason
Reeves, Nakitia (Jesse)
Rayner, Jezziah Reeves, Max Scott; and
great-grandchildren Brooklyn Reeves, Isaiah Reeves, Zariah Reeves and
Makai Rayner, Jacob Keeping, Raya Keeping, Allison Keeping, David
Keeping, and Liam Kelly.
Uncle to Barbara (Elmer) Arsenault, Hazel (Gordon) Ferguson,
Garth (Denise) Reeves, Donna (Ron) Farris, Terry (Kim) Reeves, Marvin
(Barbara) Reeves and many great and great-great nieces and
nephews; and last but not least, his dear friend
and cousin Ralph (Doris) Burns.
Predeceased by his brother Lorne and his wife Alberta Reeves,
nephew Wayne Reeves, granddaughter
Anjelica Keeping, and grandson Joseph Reeves.
A welder for many years, “Ike” as many would know
him, was an avid hockey fan and a player of some renown during his
time with the Freetown Royals to include the famed game against the
Summerside Aces in April 1956. He loved music and spent many hours
sharing his talents at kitchen tables, community school and at various
dances, churches and retirement homes over the years, but as much as
he loved hockey and music, he loved his family and his friends even
more. A huge heartfelt thank you to all our family and
friends for the outpouring of love, the kindness now and over the
years. You are all part of what made Allison’s life so full,
so loving and so special.
Our family would like to thank the kind staff at the
Dartmouth General Hospital for your care and compassion in the brief
hours you knew Allison. We also want to send our sincere
appreciation to Dr. Laniya Ogunsanya and
his staff for the incredible care and attention always afforded us
with each call and visit.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington. Due to
COVID-19, no visitation will take place. Interment later in
the Freetown People’s Cemetery. A celebration of
his life and memories will take place at a later
date. If so desired contributions may
be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
