Obituary for the Late Leo Joseph Martin
It is with broken hearts that the family of Leo Joseph Martin announce his sudden passing at home May 2, 2020. Born in St. Peter’s, December 26, 1940, he was the son of the late Joseph (Bobby) and Catherine (MacDonald) Martin. Leo is survived by his wife, Ann (Burke) Martin; children, Cynthia (Terry) Magdy, Hammonds Plains; Darren (Madeline), Didsbury, Alberta; Cleo (Gordon) Niedzielski, Sydney; Vanessa (Glenn) O’Connor, St. Andrews, Nova Scotia; and Dean (Troy), Campbell River, British Columbia; grandchildren Keegan (Blaire), Geoffrey (Celeste), Adam (Skylar), Mark (Alisa), Janelle (Nick), Brigid, Clare, Hannah, Michael, and Liam; great-grandchildren Max, Phoenix, Alex, Theodore, and Lincoln; brothers John (Georgette), George (Janet), and Albert (Shirley); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two great-grandchildren, Annabel and Georgia. Leo enjoyed family gatherings and was known to attend a party or two over the years where he enjoyed playing guitar and singing. Leo was never afraid of taking on new challenges which was evident when he left the grocery store business and entered the construction business as a drywaller. We have great memories of Dad taking us fishing, hunting, and camping. He loved the outdoors and took great pride in his vegetable gardens. Leo also loved animals, and they loved him. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a celebration of Leo’s life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Leo Joseph Martin December 26 1940 May 02 2020..
