J. Levi’s Obituary
MUISE, J. Levi – age 95, Villa St-Joseph du Lac, Dayton, Yarmouth Co., formerly of Surette’s Island, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Villa. Born May 7, 1924 in Morris Island, he was a son of the late Telesphore and Leona (LeBlanc) Muise. Levi was a veteran of the second World War. In his younger years, he worked as a lobster fisherman, after which he worked as a carpenter for nearly 30 years, having worked in Yarmouth, Labrador and Boston, where he also worked as a hospital maintenance worker. After returning to Yarmouth, he continued working in construction as a boat builder. He is survived by his loving children, Russell (Evelyn) Muise, Surette’s Island; Carl (Sandra) Muise, Derry, New Hampshire; Sharron (Art) Wanson, Saugus, Mass. and Priscilla (Karl) Peterson, Pittston, Maine, as well as by grandchildren, Amanda, Ron, Amy, Stacey, Rachel, Kim, Craig, Derrick and Scott, many great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter, Zoe. Also surviving is a sister, Phyllis (Andy) Wallace, Ireton and a brother, Rudolph (Nina) Muise, Tusket. Aside from his parents, Levi was predeceased by his wife, Annette (Surette) Muise, as well as by brothers, Nathan, Roy and Stanley Muise and by a sister, Cecilia Nickerson. A funeral Mass and interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to H.M.
