Jacob (Jake) Herman Hamoen
1946-2020
HAMOEN, Jacob (Jake) Herman
Surrounded by family on May 1st 2020 at the Columbia Forest Long Term
Care in Waterloo, Jake in his 74th year went to see his Lord and
Saviour.
Beloved husband of Toni (Servos), Sister to Betty Carrol (Micheal),
Ann Dekker (Jack), Dirk (Barb).
Loving father of Allison McMurray (Patrick), Trevor (Alison),
Jennifer, Chris (Michelle), Steven (Emily), Michael, Kate Flemister
(Mike), Jeffrey (Megan). Step-father of Shawn Court (Carolyn), Ryan
Court and James Court. Opa to Leiden, Spencer, Andrew, Daniel Adam,
Mikah, Kieran, Elianna, Gabrielle, Isabell, Jacob, William, Lillian,
Gabriel, Simon, Ameila and Layla.
Jake touched many lives both professionally and personally. His life
story of optimism, faith and love has brought special meaning to many
people he has met over his lifetime, more importantly over the past
eight years since his accident. The glass was always half full with
him and his positive nature certainly gave all who met him a different
perspective on life.
His love of guitar and music will be deeply missed.
Special mention to Calvin and Hobbes and the Farside Gallery, an
inspiration to the infamous “Jake Jokes”.
We are profoundly grateful to Columbia Forest for the amazing, loving
and caring and safe “family” that they provided for
Jake.
Because of all restrictions due to Covid19 internment will be limited
to immediate family. A memorial will be held at a further date for all
to gather and celebrate Jake’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Columbia Forest Long Term
Care, Waterloo monetarily or with PPE.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jacob Jake Herman Hamoen 19462020..
