Frances’ Obituary
MARTIN, Frances Anne – age 96, Villa St-Joseph du Lac, Dayton, Yarmouth Co., formerly of Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in the Villa. Born July 6, 1923 in Eel Brook, she was a daughter to the late Joseph E. and Mary T. “Delsie” (Babin) Muise. At a young age, Frances went to work at the cotton mill in Yarmouth, after which she began waitressing, a job she truly enjoyed and that allowed her to meet many people over the years. She had also worked at East Camp in Yarmouth during the second World War. Frances was a member of the Catholic Women’s League (St. Ambrose Council) and looked forward to taking bus trips to Ste-Anne de Beaupré. In her spare time, she loved sewing and knitting. She is survived by her loving children, Raymond (Patricia), Charlottetown; Paul (Irene) Martin, Saulnierville; Maryanne (Bernard) Miller, Tusket, as well as by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as “Mé-Mère”, and a sister, Theresa Maynard, Manchester, NH. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Lomer Martin; a daughter Gisèle in infancy; a sister, Rose Surette and brothers, Jimmy, Dennis, Joseph and Arthur Muise. Private interment will take place at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth with a funeral Mass to be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the CWL.
