It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Strelioff on January 4, 2020. He was born on June 28, 1935 in the Petrofka district.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Ann; brother, Leonard; and special aunt Lucy Kalmakoff.
He leaves to mourn; his beloved wife, Dolores; son, Randy (Rockhaven); daughter, Nancy and husband Fred VanLanduyt (Saskatoon); grandson, Lee VanLanduyt (Saskatoon); great-grandson, Kashton VanLanduyt (Saskatoon); brothers, David and wife Kathy (Olympia, WA) and Jack and wife Vickie (Woodland Hills, CA).
Bob was born at Petrofka and grew up on the farm south of Blaine Lake. He moved to Saskatoon for Business College. There he met Mom and they were married in 1957. Together they had two children, Randy and Nancy.
Bob was an Employment Officer for most of his career. He helped thousands of people find work. Some of the people he helped were Eastern Europeans and Dad could speak enough Russian to help them.
Dad was an avid and accomplished wood worker and built everything from furniture to cabins. Dad could the play the guitar beautifully. He had a love for music all his life, especially country and western, bluegrass and ethnic music.
He did a lot of camping while raising his family, some of it in a camper that he built. Bob spent time in Victoria, BC, after retirement. He enjoyed time at the cabin in Shell Lake and hosting family events.
His guiding principle in life was honesty. He dealt with everyone openly and fairly.
As per Bob’s wishes there will be no funeral services. Donations can be made in his memory to the Canadian Lung Association of Saskatchewan (1231 8th Street East, Saskatoon, SK., S7H 0S5).
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Bob Strelioff 2020..
