Sadie Anne Henderson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Sadie Anne Henderson, age 86, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born May 5, 1933 in Groves Point, she was the daughter of the late Daniel A. and Murdina (Morrison) MacLennan.
Sadie worked as a Homecare provider for several years as well as looked after the bookkeeping for the carpentry business operated by her husband Arnold.
Sadie’s family was large in number and she enjoyed being called upon from time to time for her wise counsel, whenever any of them were experiencing difficulties in their lives.
She was an avid card and cribbage player.
She is survived by her three daughters, Wendy (Rick) Barnes, North Sydney, Rev. Karen Anne Henderson, Ancaster, ON, Heather (Dave) LeBlanc, Calgary; five grandchildren, Tracy Lee Clements, Cory Barnes, Angela Mayzer, Leanne Lynks, Marcie LeBlanc; ten great grandchildren and 2 great greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her six sisters, Mae Hare, Halifax, Christine Campbell, Ancaster, ON, Beatrice Jessome, Whitney Pier, Joan (Billy) Wentworth, Bracebridge, ON, Sharon Vokey, Kincardine, ON, Donna (Glen) Mason, ON and two brothers, Sandy (Sandra) MacLennan and Bill (Thelma) MacLennan both of Dalem Lake, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Sadie was predeceased by her husband Arnold; sisters, Joyce Urquhart, Audrey Tobin, her brother Douglas MacLennan; sister-in-law, Dorothy MacLennan, brothers-in-law Dave Urquhart, Tommy Tobin, Sandy “Dimp” Hare, Roy Campbell and Calvin Vokey.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home for the care and compassion shown to Sadie and her family over the past six years.
Due to restrictions surrounding Covid-19 there will be no visitation. A funeral service and burial will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the SPCA.
