Obituary
Born January 19, 1958 in Edmonton, AB, Jim moved to Calgary at the age of 10. He graduated from Lord Beaverbrook High School in 1976 and began his career soon after.
Jim worked 40 years at various oilfield service companies where he made a large circle of friends. He was well-known for his fairness, his integrity, his honesty, and for giving generous and genuine advice. Jim enjoyed the wonders of nature and spent much of his life outdoors. He loved teaching others what he did so well, which led to him taking on the role of Scout Leader to his son’s troop.
In 2001, Jim reconnected with his former classmate Sandy, who would become his second wife when they married in 2012. They enjoyed his last twenty years together, doing almost everything as a single unit. He loved that they could travel many places, and often go “off the beaten path.” Becoming a grandfather in 2016 was a huge highlight in his life which he cherished greatly.
After Jim and Sandy retired, they moved to Saltair, Vancouver Island, BC in October 2019; a move that brought his happiness to the next level.
