WILSON, Winnifred Mary (Hilts)
Win was born in Foam Lake, SK the sixth of seven siblings. Win, Murray and the children moved to Saskatoon in 1980 where Win began working at Macleod’s Department Store. She later worked at Elmwood Residences and Home Care. Win’s reputation as volunteer with the Scottish Societies is legendary including her famous toffee. Win is survived by her daughters Sheila, LaWanda and her husband Murray as well as brothers, Maynard, Halley, Kenny and their families. Win (GaWinnie) adored her little people and thrived on spoiling them at every opportunity. Win was devoted to her church where she made many life-long friends and loved her weekly card playing with friends. Her passions included reading, cooking and gardening especially flowers.
Win is predeceased by her father, Arthur (Halley) Hilts, her mother, Brenda Hilts, two brothers Ronald Hilts and Ted Hilts, her sister, Valerie Body and her beloved son Scott Wilson. The Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church (135 – 109th Street West, Saskatoon, SK) with Reverend Canon Alex Parsons officiating. Dress to celebrate a life well lived! A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre, 20 Campus Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4.
