Obituary
After a short and brave battle with illness, our dad Thomas Aitkens, passed away on December 18, 2019 surrounded by the peace and love of his family. Dad was born on December 17, 1943 in Carberry, MB to George & Mabel Aitken.
Dad was a dedicated father and grandfather, first and foremost. He loved to see and hear about the accomplishments and achievements of his children and grandchildren. Dad spent many days tinkering around in his shed and garden, taking great pride in his workmanship. He loved his vehicles and passed the value of pride of ownership on to his children. You couldn’t park at Dad’s house without having to lift the hood so he could check the oil. Dad always spoke fondly of his coffee buddies in Carberry with whom he shared hours of conversation and laughter.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, George & Mabel Aitken; his loving wife, Marie Elizabeth Aitkens; and twin brother Alexander Aitken.
Thomas is survived in legacy by his children, Brenda (Lawrence); Georgina (Edward); Tanya (Joey); Elissa (Roger); grandchildren Michelle, Kendra, Giordan, Wade (Shannon), Natalya (Dustin), Waylon (Summer), Crysta-Shea (Alex), Josef (Lexie), Karyss-Leigh, Zaidee-Blue, Draeden and Brooklyn; great-grandchildren Kade, Riley, Quinn, Brock, Brooke, Henleigh and Ariston; sister Mabel Johnson; nieces Marlene (Kenneth), Joyce (Ken).
