Sylvia Irene Postill of Arkona passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 14, 2019, in her 78th year.
Born and raised in Arkona, Sylvia was the eldest in a family of five. Sylvia was spotted by her lifetime love Ron at the age of 15. Ron immediately stated “There’s the girl for me”, making a U-Turn in the middle of the street to return to talk to a beautiful young lady who he would soon marry and spend almost 65 years together with. Sylvia and Ron raised their family of Sherry Brownlee(Larry Marshall) and Patty (Randy) Harper and leaves a legacy in their grandchildren Gordon (Natasha), Jessica, Michael, Ashley (Adam) and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Lyla, and Owen. Sylvia is predeceased by her son in law Dan Brownlee. Sylvia also leaves many extended family, friends, and neighbours.
Sylvia was well known for her serving attitude and spent many years serving others in her work, waitressing at The Watford Inn, The Country Kitchen, The Schnitzel House, and McPherson’s Resturant before settling down to book tours at Rock Glen, selling Fuller Brush, Avon and decorating in her spare time. Nothing brought Sylvia more joy than getting to spend time with her grand and great-grandchildren, enjoying every moment with them.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, from 1pm-3pm and 5pm-8pm at Gilpin Funeral Chapel, 123 King St. E in Forest, with a service following on Wednesday, December 18 at 11am with Rev. Dr. Christine O’Reilly officiating. Interment will take place at the Arkona Cemetery.
