Obituary

It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Janet – wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and aunt.
Janet passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital with her family by her side.
Janet looked after lots of children in our own back yard back in the day. She cooked at the Cottage and worked in the mail room at the Townsman with the girls. Enjoyed the game of hockey and watching the Kootenay Ice. Her passions were her granddaughters, nieces and nephews and she always thought of others before herself. Janet loved to cook and bake.
Janet is survived by her best friend and husband of 50 years, Rick, son Darryl (Michelle) and granddaughters Jesse and Cathana; as well as daughter Christy and Jason. She also leaves her mother Marie Carroll and sisters; Debora (Ernie) Groleau and family, Karen (Paul) Liboiron and family and brother Mike (Nani) and family as well as many nieces and nephews.
Janet was predeceased by her father, Don in September 1984. Now she can be with him and we will miss her dearly.
The family would like to thank the following: East Kootenay Regional Hospital ICU, 3rd floor and emergency room staff, paramedics and the Cranbrook Wellness Centre. A special thanks to Dr. L. Wik, Dr. L. Davis, Dr. Web (St.Pauls Hospital Transcatheter Heart Valve Clinic in Vancouver), Kelowna General and all the nurses and staff who helped us. The flowers, cards and food were all so overwhelming. Thank you all!!
At Janet’s request, there will be no service. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
