Stanley “Tootsie”‘s Obituary
OGDEN, Stanley Eugene “Tootsie” – age 88, Veteran’s Place, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 in Veteran’s Place. Born August 25, 1931 in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late James Edward and Marion Mae (Berryman) Ogden. Stanley served with the Merchant Marines and then with the Royal Canadian Army was a veteran of the Korean War. He also served as a peacekeeper in Vietnam. He spent 13 years as a Correctional officer and then owning his own business “Stan Ogden’s Used Furniture”. He enjoyed playing video games on his computer and listening to music. He is survived by his children, Michael (Leonora) Ogden, Edmonton; Valerie Ogden, Ottawa and James (Rosanne) Ogden, Yarmouth, as well as by grandchildren, Jackie, Megan, Nicholas, Travis “Jake” and Katherine “KD”, along with three great grandchildren and a brother, Gordon “Gordie” (Carol) Ogden, Yarmouth. Aside from his parents, Stanley was predeceased by his wife, Vivian D. (Davenport) Ogden, as well as by brothers, Walter “Ibby” Sisco, Tommy Sisco, John “Dickie” Ogden, George “Cappy” Ogden, Donald “Barney” Ogden, Clifford “Whimpy” Ogden and a sister, Pauline “Girlie” Ogden. In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 15 from Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, Pastor James Ogden officiating.
