Corbett, Stanley Harold, 66, Bass River, NS, passed away
suddenly at home on Saturday, December 14, 2019. Born June 15, 1953 in
Truro, he was the son of Jean (Knight) Corbett of Bass River and the
late Harold Corbett. Bass River was Stan’s home for his
entire life. From his early years on Edgewood Road, he developed a
love for the outdoors. Stan worked for Lands and Forests/Natural
Resources for his entire career, retiring in 2009. His free time was
spent with Steve in Pleasant Hills, with Mike at Gamble Lake and with
George by the bonfire. His passions included Christmas trees, managing
his wood lot, hunting, fishing, gardening, volunteering with the Bass
River Heritage Society and cruising in his Jeep.
Besides his mother, Stan is survived by his loving wife
Juanita; daughters, Jessica (Adam) of Greenwood, Danielle (Jeremy) of
East Chezzetcook; granddaughter Madi.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mattatall~Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Stan’s ashes will be
scattered under his beloved chestnut tree in Pleasant Hills on
Saturday Dec. 21st, followed by a reception in
the Bass River Fire Hall commencing at 2:00 pm. All are welcome to
attend. Donations in memory may be made to the Bass River Heritage
Society. Private messages of condolence may be sent to the family by
