Spivey Sylvia Rose January 12 1941 – December 2 2019

January 12, 1941 – December 2, 2019
at the age of 78 years
Sylvia Spivey, beloved wife of John Seddon, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her devoted husband by her side after a long battle with Parkinson disease and Lewy body dementia at the age of 78. Sylvia was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Spivey, in 1996. She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Pospisil (son-in-law Daryl) and son, Sean Spivey (daughter-in-law Claire, grandchildren Luke, Brooke, and Logan). Sylvia and John’s dream to move from Calgary to Salmon Arm, B.C. was realized in 2011. Despite the onset of her disease, they were able to maintain a life at home up until 2-1/2 years ago, when she needed full-time care. John’s never-ending love and concern for her care continued to be his primary purpose, visiting her twice a day every day, without fail. Sylvia’s many friends will remember her for who she was prior to her illness, a marvel of energy that she poured into her family and friends, daily workouts at the gym, and travel to Hawaii was also a favorite pastime. She loved being a grandmother, and it was a great joy to spend time with her three grandchildren. Sylvia never wanted a service; rather, she wanted to be remembered for who she was and not what the disease had done. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Darren Lorenz and the staff at Mt. Ida Mews in Salmon Arm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks instead for donations to either Parkinson Canada (www.parkinson.ca) or the Lewy Body Dementia Society (www.lbda.org).

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Spivey Sylvia Rose January 12 1941 – December 2 2019..
