Obituary for
Rosemary Ann Sallenbach
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. On December 5, 2019, at the age of 78 years, the brave battle of Rosemary Ann Sallenbach (nee North) of Edmonton, came to an end and she joined her husband, Allen, who passed in December 2015.
Rosemary was born in Victoria, BC, to Perry and Gertrude, where she eventually met Military Serviceman, Allen Sallenbach, whom she married in October 1959. While starting their family, they embraced military life, living in Victoria, Germany, Shilo and eventually Edmonton, making lifelong friends along the way.
Rosemary’s greatest joy was her family, who will lovingly remember her. She is survived by her three daughters, Julie (Paul) MacDougall, Monica (Bruce) Hughes and Tracy Sallenbach (Darren). G, as she was affectionately called, was extremely proud of her three grandchildren, Tyler (Suzanne) MacDougall, Kyle (Laurie) MacDougall and Carissa (Jesse) Pylypow, who will always remember her with the fondest of memories, especially the hours in hockey rinks and ball hockey arenas hearing G shaking her cow bell nonstop. Becoming GG to her two great-grandchildren, Berkley MacDougall and Harrison Pylypow was by far one of Rosemary’s happiest moments. Rosemary is also survived by several cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, along with numerous nieces and nephews
Our family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Emergency and the nurses at the Robbins Pavilion 5 East for their compassionate and caring treatment of our mother.
Cremation has taken place and in honouring Rosemary’s wishes there will be no service.
In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
