Obituary of Ron Knapton
Knapton: Ronald John
“Distinguished 38 year Military career culminating
as the Base Regimental Sergeant Major of CFB Kingston”
Passed away peacefully at the Kingston Health Sciences, Centre on Wednesday December 11, 2019 at the age of 89. Ron Knapton, beloved husband of the late Joan Garrah. Much loved father of Jim (Dawn), Bruce (Sandy), Donna Wright, Chris (Barb) and Cheryl Knapton. Cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Predeceased by 1 son Steven Knapton, by 2 brothers William and Bob Knapton and by 1 sister Phyllis Lusk. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be held at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery on Monday December 16 at 11:30 am. A Celebration of Ron’s Life will then be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Br# 92 Gananoque from 1:30 – 3:30 pm. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff, nurses and doctors at the Kingston General Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion while Ron was in their care.
