Ronald Allen Wilson December 7 2019

Wilson, Ronald Allen – Age 84 of Brookside, Colchester County, passed away December 7, 2019 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Earl and Freda (Roode) Wilson.
In his earlier years, Ron had been employed with NS Power, CIL Agromart and was an ice-maker at Truro Curling Club. He had been involved in numerous sports, hockey, baseball and curling. In later years he was an avid bridge player and attended seniors dancing five nights a week. He was best known for being a driver and trainer of standardbred horses, racing predominantly at Truro Raceway but campaigned at various tracks throughout the Maritimes and two winters at Pompano Park in Florida.
Surviving are son, Stephen, Bible Hill; daughter, Donna Wilson (Toby MacDonald), Brookside; grandson, Jesse, St. John’s, NFLD; sisters, Marion Marsh, Gorham, Maine; Ruth Smith, Truro; brothers, Kenneth (Norma), Sydney; David (Eleanor), Bible Hill. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine (Newson), brothers-in-law, Steven Marsh, Al Smith.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 16, 2019 from 2:30–4:30 in Bible Hill Village Hall. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Bible Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a local SPCA or a charity of choice.
Many thanks to the doctors and nursing staff on the Palliative Care Unit and D Wing of Truro Hospital for the wonderful care given to our Dad.
