Robert’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of our loving brother, Robert James Burnett (Robbie) of Woodstock New Brunswick on November 23, 2019. He was born in Montreal, Quebec on October 14, 1955.
He was the son of the late James Kelvin Burnett (Kelly) and Helen Jessie (Benison) Burnett.
He is survived by his step-mother, Janet Lee Burnett, sisters Janice Wright (Steven) Porters Lake NS, Laurie Burnett (Ken Martin) Bedford NS, and brother Ray Burnett (Robyn O’Hara) Halifax, NS, nieces Beckie Wright (David Guay) and Jillian Wright (Mike Newcombe), Porters Lake, NS.
He was predeceased by his most precious and beloved daughter, Kelti Marie Burnett.
Robbie moved from Halifax NS to Woodstock NB in 1987 to continue his golf professional career as Head Golf Professional at the Woodstock Golf and Curling Club. He served as President of the Atlantic PGA from 1997-1998. He later took on the responsibilities as Manager of the Curling Club. He loved golf and teaching the younger members of the Club to share his passion for the game. He quickly fell in love with Woodstock and married and raised a family there. He met many friends who welcomed him and he developed long-lasting relationships, especially with his buddies Kirk and Wes. He also enjoyed playing hockey, watching his beloved “Habs”, as well as Friday night “Slammers” games with Kelti. He was also an avid follower of his daughter’s equestrian accomplishments.
