In Loving Memory of
Mr. Richard William Blackwell
November 9th, 1928 – December 15th, 2019
Passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Timmins & District Hospital on Sunday December 15, 2019 at the age of 91. He will be deeply missed by his wife Rita Blackwell (nee Charron), his children Karen-Lynn (Gilbert) Cheff and Richard Mark Blackwell, his grandchildren Ashley (Kevin McConnell), Jeremy, Chelsea, his great-grandchildren Arlo and Nora, his siblings Mildred (late Walter) Johnson and the late Cecil (Catherine) Blackwell. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also predeceased by his parents Richard Frank Blackwell and Elsie Ann Blackwell (nee Arding).
Richard was a Boy Scout leader, Rover, and King Scout for numerous years. He also liked to be surrounded by his family and was an avid curler.
Visitations will be held at Maison Funéraire Génier Gauthier Funeral Home, 70, Seventh Avenue South in Cochrane on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and also on Friday December 20, 2019 from 9:30am to 10:30 am.
The funeral mass will be held at the Transfiguration church at 11 am with Father Richard Fortin officiating.
