Obituary of Reta Mae Swindell
Reta Mae Swindell, 90, of South Berwick passed away December 9, 2019 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Aylesford, she was the daughter of the late Elihu and Sarah Marjorie (Hiltz) Saltzman.
Reta wasa homemaker, a foster mother and housed borders over the years. With the gift of hospitality, Reta’s home was open to anyone, anywhere regardless of the circumstances. In her later years, she worked at M. W. Graves and the Grand View Manor. She was a devote christian and attended the Coldbrook Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Phyllis (Steve Munro) Swindell, Waterville; son John Swindell, Berwick; grandson Art (Angelia Lerette), South Berwick; and brother Arthur Salsman, Berwick.
Besides her parents, Reta was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul; sisters Geraldine and Elise; brother Lewis; and sister-in-law Joan.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 6-8 pm and Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm, both will be held in the Berwick Funeral Chapel. Family Flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society or Burlington Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Berwick Funeral Chapel, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, NS, B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900).
